Moving to Nicaragua from the USA
Import Requirements
Dogs
Rabies MUST be over 30 days less than 1 year.
DHLP-(Distemper / Hepatitis / Leptospirosis / Parvo-virus) MUST be current.
Ecto and Endo worming treatment must be given 15 days or less of transport.
Cats
Rabies MUST be over 30 days less than 1 year.
FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia and Feline Leukemia) must be current.
Ecto and Endo worming treatment must be given within 15 days or less of transport.
Some Things Never Change
International Health Certificate MUST be endorsed by the governing agency of your country at the federal level.
Any pet entering Nicaragua MUST have an import permit. This should be acquired BEFORE pet arrives in Nicaragua.
This rule applies to ALL animals entering the country. In cabin, excess baggage or manifest cargo.
Puppies and kittens under 3 months old are not required to have a rabies vaccine. Puppies and kittens must be a minimum of 10 weeks old to fly internationally.
