Dexy made the journey from Dallas to her new home in Madeira, Portugal in August 2024. This relocation process was quite challenging because Dexy, as a Kinkajou, is on the endangered species list (CITES III). As a result, obtaining all the necessary permits for her safe transport was difficult. She required approval from both the US and Portugal to complete her journey. Fortunately, we are happy to report that Dexy was reunited with her family shortly after they arrived in the country. She was healthy, happy, and only a little bit jet lagged.
