Aimee and Oggy travel from Abu Dhabi to Texas each summer during Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar; Muslims worldwide observe this as a month of fasting. So when all of the restaurants and businesses in the United Arab Emirates are closed, many of the expats come home to visit family and friends.
The Bess Family is one of those families. Gary, Aimee and Oggy have made the trek each year since moving over to the UAE for Gary’s job 3 years ago. Oggy has made the trip back and forth now 6 times successfully. This last trip, Friday night, Oggy arrived in Abu Dhabi in good spirits and happy to see dad.
